US Military Usage

• The US Military was obligated to buy over 1.9 billion gallons of renewable fuel in 2018, that figure jumped to 2.1 billion gallons in 2019 and was 2.43 billion gallons for both 2020 and 2021.

• US government agencies imported nearly 400 million additional gallons (nearly 9 and a half million barrels) of renewable diesel from December 2016 to  November 2017. 

This demand is in response to mandates in several states, that government agencies in those states have to use renewable fuel in their fleet. 

In the US today, here is exactly 1 (one)  large scale renewable diesel and jet fuel plant, and that's  owned by Valero. Valero also uses the renewable diesel for other projects, so the US Military MUST import most of the renewable fuel they need, to fill their Renewable Fuel Standard requirement of renewable diesel and jet fuel.
